Don't Ask Me How It's Made - Just LOVE It |
|
Japanese textile manufacturers continue to impress! This unique fabric line is woven and reversible, similar to kasuri, but showing the pattern
with colours in opposite positions on the "back" instead of being exactly the same on both sides. There are seven different designs in two colour ways for a total of 28
different fabrics - ideal for a perfectly coordinated quilt or pieced jacket. Colours are lovely shades of navy blue and dark raspberry red, each with sandy beige.
Fabrics are 100% incredibly soft, plush cotton, measure 45" wide, and cost $24 per metre, $84 per fat quarter bundle, $42 per fat eighth bundle or $6 per fat quarter.
This exclusive line cannot be restocked, so don't miss out!

Reversible Japanese Fabric |
|
For those of you who fawned over the gorgeous Ouka chirimen prints, this
very limited series may also entice you. Out of the ordinary, these four prints feature traditional Japanese motifs, such as owls,
origami cranes, dragonflies and chrysanthemums in lovely shades of red and dark blue. Each fabric is reversible, showing a smaller, different
design on the opposite side so that four fabrics include eight prints, satisfying frivolous and frugal shoppers alike! Fabrics are 100% cotton,
measure 45" wide, and cost $20 per metre or fat quarter bundle.

Japanese Dobby Solids |
|
Kallisti Quilts has secured one last shipment of precious dobby cloth solids! This textured cotton fabric is intended for apparel and home
decor, but it is popular for quilting too. These fabrics are only manufactured once every few years, so I have stocked up on all colours that are still
available from the most recent line. Pictured below are the colours currently in stock (from left to right): black, brown, rust, barn red,
raspberry red, royal purple, dark cadet blue, dark olive green, avocado green, dark mustard, light mustard, muted coral,
pink and cream. Please note that colours in italics are extremely limited. All dobby cloth is 100% cotton, measures 45" wide, and costs
$20 per metre or $5 per fat quarter.

Delicate Dobby Prints |
|
Released in spring 2011, this pretty line of cherry blossom prints available in pink, black, pale blue, beige and mauve. This small collection of
five fabrics does not at all represent other my inventory of dobby cloth in general, but stands alone with its beautiful
detail, delicate texture and subtle sheen. Fabrics are 100% light weight cotton and measure 45" wide. All colours are now limited to fat quarters
for $5 each or fat eighth bundles for $12.50.

About Kallisti Quilts |
|
Established in November 2000, Kallisti Quilts is passionate about providing a diverse collection of
imported fabrics for the discerning and innovative quiltmakers of Ontario and beyond. I specialize in Japanese
and African cotton fabrics, including fairly traded handmade batiks, but I continually endeavour to find new suppliers and
refresh your quilting vision. For a tactile experience, you may visit Kallisti Quilts at the shows listed on the
Events page. I attend over a dozen shows each year, host two Open Houses and squeeze in as many trunk shows
as my schedule allows.
