Expanding Selection of African Fabrics
Kallisti Quilts is always open to selling new kinds of ethnic fabrics, but finding suppliers can be a challenge. After several
requests for Kente Cloth, I was able to track down a few pieces! These three fabrics are 100% heavy weight cotton and machine
woven in West Africa. All fabrics are 100% cotton, measure approximately 48" wide, and cost $20 per metre. Each fabric is limited to six yards, so purchase
soon for best selection!
Japanese Dobby Solids
Many NEW colours have been added to this popular collection of dobby cloth solids, which make great sashings, borders and
backgrounds. Pictured below are all of the colours currently available. All fabrics are 100% cotton, 45" wide and cost $20 per
metre. Black and barn red are coming soon!
Taupe Lovers Rejoice
After a noticeable absence, a lovely series of 45 neutral yarn dyed fabrics is newly available. Although not
from the offical Taupe designers, these high quality Japanese fabrics are sure to please your neutral plaid palette and
your pocket book too, as this collection is a wee bit cheaper than the original, selling for $20 per metre. Swatches
now posted in the Japanese Fabrics section!
Ouka Now Limited
From Ouka of Japan, these unique striped 100% you-won't-believe-it's-cotton jacquard prints are silky soft, slightly stretchy and drape beautifully.
Fabrics are 44" wide, consisting of three 11" wide bands of watercoloury solid and two 5 1/2" wide bands of mediating colours
overprinted with delicate cream cherry blossoms. A single whimsical strand of cherry blossoms runs across the width every 12". The original
five colourways available are shown below: orange/coral, pink/red/yellow, purple/blue/teal,
sage/olive/bronze and black/grey/rust (sold out). Fabrics cost $20 per metre and quantity is limited.
